Health equity is a major priority for ReOrient Now. Often times the individuals who need these resources the most do not work for employers who have generous or supportive parental leave policies. Low income families are the most impacted by the transition to parenthood, leading them to become behind in the workforce, we are committed to supporting them during the transition time.. ReOrient Now will be providing 400 families with this parental leave benefit each year by working with local agencies supporting parental health.
We are creating a benefit that supports parents during the transition months during the adjustment to parenthood. We hear regularly that it takes a village to raise kids, we live in a time where many young families have moved to tech hubs for work, they aren't close to their village, and we've designed a benefit that supports like a village would. More and more employees are looking to their employers to support their holistic livelihood, not just pay a salary and provide medical benefits. We are giving employers the opportunity to think outside the box when it comes to benefits, to support the workforce in this life stage, and show that having parents return to work after the adjustment less stressed is a priority.
Creating benefits that support varying worker groups highlights an understanding that not everyone is in the same life stage and you're providing benefits that meet those unique needs. Working parents, and specifically working moms experience a tremendous impact with the new load of parenthood, companies who acknowledge that impact and provide a way to add ease during the transition will be valued places to work.
